What was the experience of obtaining a 30-day Covid Extension at Krabi Immigration for a B Visa holder?

Yesterday March 31st. I went to Krabi Immigration. I was prepared for two approaches.

1. All docs required for a One year Extension of Stay (EoS) B Visa with WP.

2. American Embassy Letter for a 30 day Extension (which clearly stated it was only for tourist seeking an Extension)

Amazingly I got the 30 day Covid Extension. I signed my name 8 times, paid 2000 Baht... Total wait and processing time 1.5 hours. The staff were nice, polite and helpful including the slim trim Boss lady who had a service pistol on her hip (caught my attention) 😮.

To me it seems that Immigration has given up trying to make it logical that everyone should have just magically left Thailand already. It has become way to late in the game for anyone to ignore the obvious. Twelve - Fourteen days ago - I believe Denial would have been the result.

I got 15 + 15 days. Have to go back to be stamped in for the other 15 days. Ridiculous! "Under Consideration" - For What?

TiT.

* my reason for not pursuing a one year EoS in my comments.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The author shares their experience obtaining a 30-day Covid Extension from Krabi Immigration, highlighting the ease of the process compared to pursuing a One Year Extension of Stay (EoS) under a B Visa. They mention being prepared with documentation for both options but ultimately receiving the Covid Extension after paying 2000 Baht and waiting for 1.5 hours. The discussion continues in the comments, where the author explains their reasoning for choosing the short-term extension over the EoS and engages with others about visa expiration and their experiences.

You can get a 15+15 =30 days Extension if on a B Visa Multi-Entry One year - with your Embassy's Letter + processing at Immigration. But no guarantee unfortunately

Biting the hands that feed them. Without foreigners their jobs will disappear, they never take that into consideration....

Henri is right - he should be personally credited with keeping the wheels of the Thai economy turning and shouldn’t have to comply with regulations. It is obviously you who is the arrogant one.

Oh look, another foreigner who over estimates how much he contributes in the grand scheme of things.. :P

Was the one year available to you ?? Seems a better choice to me

So you got 30 days what's next ??

- Bottom line it is just a personal choice. For a Border Bounce in normal times Satun Malaysia is only a 6 hour leisurely drive away. And I never have to interact with the local Immigration office. Many if not most Farang businesses in Ao Nang do same as me.

- Yes it was available to me. I had a complete One Year EoS from B Visa application packett with indexed with colored tabs - two copies. Please read my two comments above. Not only that but I qualify in every regard all taxes paid - all forms complete. Read my rationale in the first two comments above.

I will likely have to get another Covid Extension before the Borders open up and I can do a Border Bounce to get a 90 day stay

My reason for choosing a 30 day Covid Extension versus a EoS one year B Visa is as follows. I have 12 months left on my One Year Multi-Entry B Visa (out of Penang) 9 months + 3 months. This Visa Cost me 5000 Baht plus 4000 in Travel and Hotel. Also I just like being Independent of local Immigration. Even though I conduct my Business in every way to be compliant with requirements to obtain an Extension of Stay one year.
