UPDATE: Subject of needing "Mananging Director" in the Work Permit to get a One Year B Visa Multi-Entry.
My Business Assistant Khun Pam who is very sharp in these matters, called Krabi Labor Ministry about the phrase "Mananging Director" versus just "Director" typed in the Work Permit. The Labor Ministry Officer said they normally only put in "Director" but would change a Work Permit booklette to read "Mananging Director" upon request.
Also Khun Pam called the Kota Bharu Consulate to see if this supposed requirement had spread to Kota Bharu.. The Consulate officer replied that this wording of "Managing Director" was not a requirement in their office. The officer also added that she has not heard of this issue.
(this is not to say that my post is policy in all of Thailand or of all Thai Consulates - and things may change)

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the recent updates regarding visa requirements for foreigners in Thailand, specifically focusing on the title needed on a Work Permit for obtaining a One Year B Visa Multi-Entry. A call to the Krabi Labor Ministry revealed that while 'Director' is typically sufficient, they can amend it to 'Managing Director' upon request. Furthermore, inquiries with the Kota Bharu Consulate confirmed that this terminology is not mandatory there. Several forum users shared experiences regarding title requirements for work permits, with some reporting instances where 'Managing Director' was indeed required.
In stead of the yearly Visa run for a new Non Immigrant B visa and every 90 days to a border, changing of the Work Permit in correct terms for Penang, there is an option called Extension of Stay based on working. Available at your local Immigration Office and cost only 1.900 Thb. If you like to travel that year a multiple Re-entry Permit cost 3.800 Thb.
You need 4 Thai staff to apply and to have a Work Permit, you can use the same 4. So it is only your salary and your income tax what makes it a little more expensive.
yes yes but for the businesses opened seasonally this is a muchore expensive option...u have to pay social security for 4 thai staff year round and pay personal income tax on 50,000 a month for 12 months...unless this has recently changed?
In my opinion the Term Director is the only valid term. This is because Titles come from the Company Registration - Certification Document. There is only one Management level description there in that document and it is Director... But the Labor Ministry allows a change as I wrote.
For my BOI company, I originally applied as vice-GM, got rejected and told to amend to “Director”. Then got rejected again and told to amend to “Managing Director”. Seems they will only allow once executive level work permit for the company.
