Any helpful folks here based in Ubon Ratchathani? My wife's father passed there 20+ years ago. Now they have need for the death certificate (who wants to be the first wag to say "they should have gotten a copy when it happened?" 555) and are convinced we need to run the whole clan there Beverly Hillbilly style. I am of the opinion that with lawyers and fax machines or whatever that this is solvable without travel.

Could there be any problem when I enter Ubon Ratchathani overland from Pakse? I was already in Thailand from the beginning of December until the end of February with a tourist visa (single entry) and then crossed over to Laos. I would like to re-enter Thailand around March 15th. Could there be any problems at this border? Will I get 45 days again? And can these be extended again by 30 days? And maybe even be extended again for 7 days? I've often read about this 7-day extension, but have no idea in which cases it is granted? My flight home is on June 4th from Bangkok to Frankfurt. I am German. Would be nice if someone could tell me something about this! Thanks in advance🙏

An “and everything else” question for anyone who is familiar with Ubon Ratchathani … when choosing a hotel, is there an area which is reasonably central to a busy restaurant/bar area, walking streets and night markets, or is this a town where you find a hotel you like and drive your car to wherever you need to go?
