Then I believe you should have been stamped in for only 90 days if I am not mistaken.

Go to your local immigration and get it corrected.

You do not have a 1 year entry in the system.

Its a mistake.

officially you do not need it... But.... They may ask.

If you are a genuine tourist you shouldn't have any problems.

Just make sure you have all the proof ofs they require

To clarify my reason was pretty much the same.

I had to fly in to thailand for a wedding unexpectedly and my stay was expected to be short.

I explained to the officer why I didn't want to "waste" a 60 day visa when I intend to only stay a week this time.

They stamped me with a 30 day visa exempt, made a little comment that I didn't want to use the visa this time and they allowed it.

Never ask never know.

Yes I have done this.

It is down to the immigration officer if they allow it or not.
