Hi! I've got a 60 days single-entry visa which I eventually plan to extend with another 30 days. I'm flying into Bangkok and will head off to Yangon the same day (will have to enter Thailand to reach my Myanmar flight), before returning to Thailand. Rumours has it that I can ask to for a 30 days tourist visa upon arrival and save my 60 days single-entry visa. Does anyone have any experience with this? Alternatively, is it possible (and easy) to buy reentry at Don Mueng? Thanks :)

, IF you're gonna try that you might wanna get your terminology dialed in. There is no such thing as a 30 day tourist visa on arrival :O

IF you come from one of 51 countries you get stamped in for free for 30 days without needing a visa. It's called a 30 day visa exempt entry.

Good Luck (y)

To clarify my reason was pretty much the same.

I had to fly in to thailand for a wedding unexpectedly and my stay was expected to be short.

I explained to the officer why I didn't want to "waste" a 60 day visa when I intend to only stay a week this time.

They stamped me with a 30 day visa exempt, made a little comment that I didn't want to use the visa this time and they allowed it.

Never ask never know.

Well last time I came they gave me a 30 day no visa rather than stamping my 60 day visa without asking so maybe you could get the same treatment ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Yes I have done this.

It is down to the immigration officer if they allow it or not.
