What should I do if I've been incorrectly stamped with an extra year on my re-entry visa in Thailand?

I was coming back in on a re-entry stamp yesterday at Swampy and I must have really caught them on a good day as I got stamped in until 20th November....2020.

I don't know where the extra year came from but I'll take it. 😎

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster received an incorrect re-entry stamp allowing them to stay in Thailand until November 20, 2020, instead of the correct date of November 20, 2019. Commenters advised the poster to get the mistake corrected promptly to avoid any future issues with immigration. They highlighted the importance of monitoring one’s immigration documents and being proactive in addressing errors.

Okay, thanx one and all for the suggestions (and comments that were off topic too).

as you might have gleaned from the replies (or not) it is YOUR responsibility (seeing as it's your passport) to go get the stamp corrected. You should have done it when you filed your TM30 the other day.

I think you know by now that the stamp is wrong, that you only really get stamped in until 20th Nov 2019 and staying after that will be overstay.

Good Luck

Maybe it's their new racket? 🤣

Imagine how many others may have been mis-stamped and potentially face huge fines when they leave

For safety sake i would

Be visiting immigration office immediately and maybe trying to notify BKK IO Of what has happened

It’s your responsibility to check and keep your entry (admitted until) stamp correct, you cannot blame an immigration officer at passport control upon your entry if they gave you wrong stamp. You stay longer than you are supposed to be, then you would pay overstay fine or be banned because of overstay. “immigration officer gave me this stamp so I’m not doing wrong”-sh excuse wouldn’t work because it’s YOUR responsibility, not anyone else’s.

sure of course. It’s a kind of part of your responsibility to check it immediately, I guess.

Oh SinSeh... please let me know what u did. I wanna have them giving me 1 year additional too!! 🤗 hahaha just kidding. Have fun at the immigration center.

I had a similar thing but just 1 month wrong. I didn't realize until the last day of the stamped date (when I was 30 days overstay in the system) and had to drive half way across the country through the night to the office that made the mistake to get it fixed (apparently it was impossible for any other office to amend it).

Then I believe you should have been stamped in for only 90 days if I am not mistaken.

Go to your local immigration and get it corrected.

Your re-entry permit kept your existing "permitted to stay" date alive. It does not extend it in any way. So if your previous stamp permitted you to stay until 20th November, that is still the date you are permitted to stay for. The IO clearly made a mistake, and you should have it corrected.

You should get it corrected or you may be in trouble! It is just my opinion!
Tom ************
What kind of visa were you re entering on?
Martin *******
Hope you got it corrected or there'll be issues later...

Get it corrected ASAP.

You do not have a 1 year entry in the system.

Its a mistake.
