the only reason is the better exchange rate with Wise nothing else. You still have to pay fees for every transfer with Wise. It up to you to find out if the better exch rate is worth it after deducting fees versus bank to bank with no fees but worse exch rate. I don‘t use Wise because the tranfer from my bank acc to wise takes too long
I can tell you that its not easier at Kasikorn, they want exact the same docs all together. if you only miss one of them no account. We had almost everything, a 1 year rental contract, CoR, DL we even had a Thai health insurance policy contract, only thing we didn‘t have was a longterm visa because we entered with the 30 day visa exemption, and they didn‘t accept it. So no account. We tried several branches
Or you just apply for a non-O 90 days retirement visa in your home country and enter Thailand after settling bankaccounts etc. you can apply for extension of stay after 2 months after you meet the reqirements for bank account
