TLDR : Answer Summary
To apply for a Non-O visa in the UK, you can visit the Thai immigration website or the Thai Embassy in London, where the process is reported to be relatively quick, taking about 2 days to a week depending on the volume of applications. It is advisable to apply for this visa in your home country due to fewer requirements compared to applying within Thailand. Essential documents include proof of income or funds, and depending on your situation, other documentation may be required. Some respondents suggest starting with a 60-day visa exemption upon arrival, then applying for the Non-O visa within Thailand.

I think applying non O in your country reqired lots of paper works. But you can apply in Thailand even when you are on 60 days visa exemption

The paperwork is not "lots", as stated above it is better to apply at home

Unless somethings changed, it’s the OA visa (Not O) if applied for outside of Thailand. You’ll need to provide proof of funds, DBS check, medical certificate, health insurance +++

Much easier to enter on a 60 day stamp then start an NON-O application once here.

@Nick ******
Incorrect. You can apply for the Non Imm O visa via the online evisa system in the UK. It's much easier to get the visa in your home Country than in Thailand.

Always best to apply for a regular 90 days Non O at home before you leave. Then you can open a bank account and apply for one year extension of stay within two months.

If you come on the Non O-A, you’ll maintain the mandatory thai health insurance requirement for all future.

The requirements for to apply for the Non O at home or in Thailand are the same. But at home you can apply just with income min equal to 65K baht or funds equal to 800K baht. In Thailand you’ll need to bank 800K baht in a Thai bank account for to apply.

Can I ask how much they charged. I was thinking of going in on a 60day visa exempt and then doing a border hop or extending the visa exempt for a further 30days

@Lester ********
think was £70. Done mine in Thai embassy London all done on line

@Steve ********
great if that’s all it cost I might do that. Saves all the messing about

I do a 90 day Non-O (marriage) Visa for £60 rather than get a 60 day Visa Exempt entry and have to get the extension plus having to get proof of onward travel just in case. I find the small cost difference to be well worth it.

You apply here under these requirements. Quite fast, probably just some days or within a week now.
