so it’s important to understand the history of 2025 you were last in Thailand in April 2025? And you were out of Thailand for 6 months before returning? If this is the case how they treated you is extremely unreasonable

over 20 years I entered Thailand approximately 120 times and never been asked I know if no one who has been asked. It’s only enforced for people coming from very poor countries that appear not to have money. the average tourist will not walk around with 20,000 baht in their pocket. especially since everything is electronic

No visa exemption is not limited to two a year. consecutive 60 day visa exemption stays is limited to two.
