NO, no such rule. Many people with an LTR, other qualifying visas, married or work permits can open and accounts in Thailand.

nothing, At least it’s my opinion. If you’re here and bringing in a lot of money from big dividends then you will be watched. Other than that I can’t see anything happening or changing. I pay taxes in my home country that’s where it will stop for me

it’s a written rule but only enforced if you are coming from a very poor country or you appear to be lacking funds to enter the country. It’s extremely isolated. For example, I have entered Thailand well over 100 times never been asked. Same for other people I know.
