just an aside,had no problem opening an account in chiang mai on an ed visa. First bank I tried had an account opened in 30 mins, just tm30, COR and letter from the school. I understand everywhere's different.

same as you. Krungthai no problem, in and out in about 40 mins. Passport (ed visa stamp) certificate of residence and tm30.

Yes,after all the posts I've seen on here I was expecting I right palaver. 1st bank I went to (ktb) I had the account opened within 40 mins,so it's doable.
