Laos (appointment needed). Probably will only switch to e-visa around January 2025 as well (tentatively, as no specific date has yet been set).

Yangon (appointment needed) - won't switch to e-visa until probably January 2025 or later.

Jakarta - will probably accept walk-ins until at least late November.

Phuket isn't any better. Perhaps a land border entry would be advised. Fly into Kuala Lumpur, then catch a bus to Hat Yai, something like that.

For pretty much anywhere but Laos, anywhere from 1 day to 1 month seems to be sufficient.

It seems that all visas issued in sticker form still state "employment prohibited", meanwhile some of the e-visas now say things like what's indicated on your visa.

Yours says "tourist remote worker". Where did you apply by the way?

@Shandy *******
Yep, could be. However, regardless of this, a work permit must accompany a valid visa that is work authorized.

Plus the appropriate signatures and stamps. No stamp from the hospital = no visa.

Anonymous participant It's online in Vietnam now, but just apply there. Otherwise, if you qualify for it, go for the LTR, but you need to have a substantial amount of savings (check the BOI website for details).

If you can qualify for the LTR, absolutely go for that one rather than the DTV. It's much better in every respect. You can essentially stay 5 years before being reviewed for another 5 years. Reporting is only once every 12 months. You get a special immigration lane at the airport. It's reportedly easier to apply for bank accounts too and has several other perks.
