not straight forward when the pics on your phone have to be converted to file type & size. I hit that roadblock for India & Vietnam. Thankfully I have a literate friend able to download apps that did this. I realise this is the new reality, but very difficult for 70+ folks😨

an American married to a Thai who has lived in Thailand for years told me. He and wife own a business and he is paranoid (rightfully so) to be “reported” if he is caught even just helping in the business doing something as simple as sweeping trash, clearing a table etc. . He told me he was told about the problem the volunteers had “working”, by the volunteers themselves.

I heard volunteers after the tsunami were cited for working without a permit just clearing rubble away😰

my hesitation with getting the retirement visa before going to Thailand is the mandatory health insurance requirement. I’d rather self insure.
