Hi I am an American, and was thinking of applying for the DTV. My intention is to live in Thailand long term (the full 5 years offered by the DTV) so I am also wondering about taxes. If I live more than 6 months in a place, I assume I am to pay taxes. And if this is not law in Thailand, it might be soon.

So I'd like to know what I can expect with in regards to taxes (tax rates) as a Freelancer with clients in the US. I will obviously have to file in the US as well. Wondering what the double taxation treaty between Thailand and USA is like. Where is it good to go for tax advice? Any general tips, resources, advice?

THAI TAXATION 2024 & TAXATION TREATY

I've been reading for months re double taxation so researched for the UK agreement. I'm adding the link to the Thai - UK treaty itself and another that give a good explanation of what's in and what's not. It's very good news and I hope this helps.

Hello I am a foreign student coming to attend my bachelor in Thailand. I am currently being considered for a paid internship from a company overseas, how would my situation be? I know you can't have paid internships in Thai but the company is from overseas.

Would this be considered violating my student visa?

What other laws / taxes should I worry about?

Hi all.

Another question about tax residency but didn't want to bump the previous post.

I think I'm right in saying that if I spend more than 180 days in a calendar year in Thailand, that I become liable to pay tax there.

As a retired person who pays UK tax via PAYE on my pension, what is the implication of this and how is tax deducted in Thailand?

I have a Thai bank account with 800k baht but no regular payments into the account from my pension.

I want to spend more time in Thailand. Probably 9 months per year.

Thanks in advance.

Hello everyone,

I am on a non-o volunteer visa with a foundation. My income for this is coming from Germany. And as I am working in Thailand, Germany does not require me to pay taxes. However, for my work permit renewal next year I need to show prove of tax payment. Therefore I was thinking I might pay taxes here in Thailand. Does anybody have any information on this? Or possibly an accounting/tax consultant office that knows about more complex processes such is mine?

Any help would be greatly appreciated
