Just be honest and say you had booked flights provided and that you thought the visa would be through in time, openly ask if that is a problem. 2 months is a long time to approve. Then you know. Honesty is best policy.
They are going to ask for additional documentation via email so I wouldn't worry, so long as you show the 500k, they will ask for anything else they want. What John has said is the other option.
