We travel here most years and keep our prescription meds in our carry on and have never had a problem.

None of ours are narcotics, if he has narcotic prescription that could be a problem should he be checked.

Like other folks said keep everything in the containers that show the prescription and all should be good 👍

Yes the Thai people are the friendliest people I have ever met. Most are very helpful, friendly and trying to make a living.

when you cross on foot do you go through immigration in Laos and process an on arrival visa and then when you return to Thailand you go through immigration and get stamped in according to the visa you have?

Is the cross over location what folks are referring to as the friendship bridge? And on return here they have Thai immigration???
