Will overstaying my visa in Thailand affect future visa applications?

Remember that the authorities use face recognition from cctv and police vehicles, so if you get stopped after the visa run out and until arrived at the airport, you will get fined, taken into custody until first plane out to your homecountry (And yes, you will have to pay for the plane ticket) and risk to be banned from returning to Thailand for years.

So don’t run that risk.

There won't be a problem I over stayed for ,3 days ( not my fault ,,) I paid the fine at airport and adverse effects or black marks etc.

Do not overstay. It’s a huge red flag

Do you need a visa ? How long are you coming for ? Currently you get 60 days plus extension of 30 days having a USA passport. Depending on your arrival date you may not need a visa.

Overstays are cringed upon from Thai authorities.

Why would you jeopardise future visas by purposely overstaying when you can avoid it and pay unnecessary overstay fines ? 🤔

You could go to a border and return on a non visa entry stamp.

You don't say what type of visa or extension you will be in Thailand on. Will you be there as a tourist? Something else?

If you are going as a tourist you can apply for a 30 day extension. If you have some other entry that you can't or won't extend, you go on April 8th or 9th (no earlier than this) and apply for an extension that you do not qualify for. The immigration officers will take your money, and put a stamp in your passport that says "extension denied, 7 days to leave Thailand" and then you will receive a new stamp that should cover you through the 14th. These 7 days start from the day you apply at immigration, so you can't go any earlier than that.
