Just for info, a 6 month METV is £150 to buy.

A SETV is £30 to buy. For me, because I'm tight, I would rather go to another country after 90 days (60 days on the visa and a 30 more day extension for 1900 baht ~£45) and buy a second SETV OR come back into Thailand on a free Visa exemption that gives you 30 days +30 extension for 1900 baht (£45 at current exchange rate).

The eVisa system also states that you have to give good reason why you wish apply for a multi entry tourist visa.

I'm not sure what the 'correct' answer would be to satisfy Royal Thai Embassy in London to issue a METV. 🤔

Good to know Michael. What did they require? What were the financial requirements.

OK Tod, thanks for the info, I'm glad I asked here.

Assuming that I could try get the extension in the first year with the 65k THB per month banked, what would be the alternative, apply for a Non O in my home country? What would I have to show in terms of finances to apply in the UK for a 90 day Non O?

I am a resident of New Zealand also and have a bank account there and in Australia. Would I also have the option to apply for a Non O in one of those countries? I have no desire to go back to the UK again any time soon, if I can help it!

If from a country that doesn't provide an affidavit and the money (40k/m for marriage extension or 65k/m for regular Non O extension) is transferred in every month for the previous 12 months, does it have to sit and stay in the Thai bank account untouched or can it be used for monthly living expenses, spent on 'stuff', invested elsewhere, withdrawn as cash and put into a different Thai account and transferred elsewhere?

I concur. I was merely trying to make you aware of the UK pension system, if you're not British /didn't know, rather than understand 'Thai logic'.

@Robert ******
from the system, the 'purpose of visit' selected from the drop down doesn't make sense because of the text in brackets. (Pensioner ages 50 or above, with a state pension).

A UK Pensioner cannot be in receipt of their state pension until they reach age 66.

I thought as much. Thanks Ellie, I will talk to them. The last time I arrived last May 2021 there was an issue with the system for them to register me.
