My 60 day plus 30 day extension TV expires next month. I plan to do a border crossing at Mae Sai and come back in the same day on a 30 day visa exemption (UK Passport). Am I required to ask my landlord to do another TM30 when I return to CM. I plan to be back in CM the day after I do the border crossing back into Thailand from Myanmar. Cheers

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires if a new TM30 form is needed after a same-day border crossing from Mae Sai into Thailand on a 30-day visa exemption. Responses indicate that a new TM30 is not required if returning to the same address, provided the original TM30 slip is available. However, it is necessary to report back to immigration within 24 hours of returning.

Ian Hornby You don't need to lodge a new TM30, if you are returning to the same address and already have the tear off TM30 slip from originally being registered, you just need to report to immigration within 24hrs of arriving back in Chiang Mai, with your passport and TM30 slip. Immigration staff will date stamp and initial your slip and enter your details onto their system

I have asked my immigration officer friend.

I am always on tourist visa for four years continuously.

Hence not affected, because I have never did the TM30...

It affects those on NON migrants O Visa. And those with work permits

Thanks
@Rob***
, I have always stayed at condo. Perhaps that's why, not affected. Or rather, not "yet".

Check points do not ask for TM30 papers, as we seen in reports of several Immigration Offices, at application of Extension of Stay the TM30 must be filled before the Extension is given. Responsibility is the Landlord, House owner, House Master or the Manager of Hotel according section 37 of the Immigration Act. If you rent a house Immigration "translate" that into the foreigner is the House Master and let you pay. Some Immigration offices are enforcing it hard, some less and some don't care, best advice is check with your own office to avoid fines.

The responsibility and fine is on the Landlord. Not on the Tourist

You are incorrect and so is your immigration officer friend. At the immigration offices that require a TM.30, every Foreigner has to do one no matter what type of stamp or Visa or extension your on

Chiang Mai is one of the immigration offices that is pretty hard core about the TM.30 form, so I'd say go do it within 24 hours of getting back to where ever it is you stay in Chiang Mai.

, upstairs office. Pick a number off the table on the right and join the queue. First desk on the left deal with TM30.

I think I like that option Richard as I know then it's been done and it saves the hassle for the landlord as I will be coming a going a fair bit. Which queue do I join at Promenade for such a task?

CM allows the tenant to complete the TM30 on behalf of the landlord (best option to ensure it is done).

Full details of lease and copies of landlord ID or passport are needed. β€˜Nice’ lady in immigration completed the form for me! πŸ™‚

On that I'm not sure
@I**
, :/

I believe CMI allows people to file their own you might want to take the thai i/d of your land lord and the house book listing of the property you rent.

If no one weighs in on here from CM with answers, try posting it in Expat Community of Chiang Mai or Stupid Questions Chiang Mai groups.

Thanks Todd. Can I do it personally or do I have to ask my LL to do it?
