on the web it says that I can do the whole thing by mail. Not sure that I trust that.

looking to make it simple for my guest. Finding the booths and paying is harder than just following the signs to the taxi line and paying half as much. Then I can pay when the taxi arrives. Looking for someone that I can pay in advance who it will be easy for her to find and she does not have to pay.

I don't know how strong the used sale market is and how nice the rentals are. If the rentals are junk and I can buy something really nice new and then sell it for most of what I paid 2 months later, that is a deal.

thanks. That is my approach now. I don't buy the onward ticket and deal with it if needed. I have not needed in a long time.

I used onwardtickets before as I did a lot of travel into the Philippines with no onward ticket. The airline stopped asking so I stopped buying. If they ask me I will step back and buy the cheapest ticket Expedia offers and return. The one time I was called on this many years ago the airline offered to sell me a cheap onward ticket and we were done.

being an old, white American guy I generally don't worry about profiling.

really? Not a problem in the Philippines. My 2 month rental at the hotel would count and insurance is easy. Seems like a rental is the best route though.
