Finding an open slot for a motorcycle license school is even harder than for the DTV. Do you have any school recommendations?

Worth while actually getting a motorbike licence for my time there as I know they fine you regardless on the spot iv been told 🙄

Seeing some mixed messages about getting a Thai drivers license for a scooter.

Is it possible on a tourist visa or visa exemption?

Is a certificate of residence required or will a utility bill suffice? Is the utility bill used to obtain a cert of residence?

I see that a Thai license isn't required until after 90 days, but I don't have a IDP or home country motorcycle license.

Is it possible to get an IDP without going back to my home country (US)? I'd travel to any nearby country for this, if that makes sense.

Hello all, I’m moving to Thailand soon and will have IDP for my home country. I’ve recently learned that there are two different drivers licenses I can obtain in Thailand, for car and motorcycle, and was hoping to gain a little knowledge from people that have obtained these?

My first question is whether I would need the motorcycle version of a drivers license to ride a scooter/moped that I could rent, and if that license is universal for that type of transportation or is it just based on the size of the engine you intend on riding?

If I only had a drivers license for cars and was pulled over for riding a bike, what would be the ticket?

Regarding the process of obtaining both of these, if I’m in Bangkok, what do I need to have, where do I need to go, and is there a practical driving test for both of these to show that I can drive a car and a scooter or is it only written?  Any practical advice would be welcomed? Cost?

Lastly, are there any benefits to having either of these licenses aside from their literal uses? For example, does having a drivers license an ID make certain government processes little easier?

I recently moved to Bangkok last month on a DTV and I’m looking for guidance on how to apply for a Thai driver’s license (both motorcycle & car).

I already have:

• TM30

• Residence Certificate for Motorcycle & Car issued by the Immigration Bureau

• Valid driver’s license from my home country + International Driving Permit (IDP)

Could someone please share the latest process, required documents, and whether an appointment is needed at DLT? Also, any tips or recent experiences would be really appreciated.

If I take an agent is it safe and not a dodgy license that will create problems incase of an accident and police investigation?

Not so much a Visa question. Driver license in Thailand. Does everyone that has one have two cards? Recently didn’t realize they were different and had the car one while on the bike.

Has anyone applied for a new driver's license on a DTV? The required forms are clear to me.

I want my scooter license, and will have to do tests as I don't have that from my home country. I question whether I will have trouble because I don't speak, read or write thai. Will I be able to do these tests? I do not want to hire an agent if I don't have to.
