I read that there are more than few cases of being questioned upon entry and having to show some documents (workation) that should match the one you used to apply.
Hi. I am seeing conflicting information about the following so seeking some advice.
I currently in Thailand on an ED visa but studies are almost complete. There will be about two weeks left on the ED Visa. I am returning the UK before that ED Visa expires and intend to apply for a non-o visa based on being over 50 when I am back in the UK.
My question is, do I need to ask immigration to cancel the last two weeks of the ED visa before I leave or is it effectively cancelled as soon as I pass through immigration at the airport?
I don’t want to risk getting rejected for the new non-o visa by already having a “valid visa” in my passport.
Hey all, I’m planning of snowbirding every winter (November to May) in Thailand on a yearly basis (given that I like the first year, which I’m sure I will but you never know!)
I’m Canadian living in Canada right now but am looking for advice on DTV, I have the $15k for 3+ months proof requirement. Is this the biggest hurdle I am to expect with trying to apply or is there more? I can always come as a tourist and border hop this year if I face issues, wondering what other digital nomads are doing.
Lastly, my girlfriend is not a remote freelancer like me, but she does have the 15k evidence in her account. How do you guys typically deal with partners for these types of plans?
I don’t want any trouble with Thailand and border hopping is just as a temporary resort while I get things in order for the long run, but I do prefer options that have 0 risk.
Hi guys. I got an e-mail from immigration that my 90 days report will soon be due. However, I just got back to Thailand a couple of weeks ago and I thought it all started over the day I returned. Should I ignore the e-mail and go there 90 days from my arrival ?
So I left Thailand and reentered on my DTV back in April. Today I went to report my address for the 90 day report.
Had all my documents in order (or so I thought).
I did not know you needed a TM30 for each time you exit and reenter Thailand. Immigration official’s smile immediately fades when she looks me up in the system and asks why my TM30 is dated for July and not April.
Well, “There was a typo in my name”, I said.
She said, “No, where is your TM30 for April. You only have two TM30s. Where is owner. Charge ฿1600. Contact owner right now. Do not leave. You call I speak to owner.”
Condo Owner: not responding to texts or calls
Me: the genius who left his wallet back at the condo, because, “Oh, immigration is just a short stroll to the beach, I’ll be in and out.”
Currently sitting here hoping they’ll let me return with the money. Each time they ask for owner, they just get angrier and angrier. Dear God
Update: They let me come back with the money. Got my receipt and I swear to God I’ll never make that mistake again 🤣
I have a question about the soft dtv visa. Are you legally allowed to work online as well? Obviously you're not allowed to work for Thai clients; are you allowed to freelance online for non Thai residents whilst staying in Thailand with a DTV soft power visa?
How many times can you apply for the 90 day non o visa ? If a person came into Thailand on this visa from uk and went back to uk after the 90 days could they then after a month apply for another 90 day non o visa ?
I got my DTV visa approved earlier this year. I missed my first 90 day report at immigration by two weeks. I’m am aware there will be a 2000b fine, however is going to be a problem in the future?
Has anyone left Thailand after 180 days and THEN did the first 90 day report after coming back?
