Depends on the local embassy and they’re requirements.

In Vancouver Canada it was not required to have bookings. Just to have flight numbers you intended to take.

not sure how your friend messed this up so badly. If they've been coming to thailand every year (5X a year for the past 15 years) he surely knows that Thailand is the king of paperwork, and that there is global pandemic happening, and not getting any better!

He should have know to read the instructions on the embassy's website or done a simple google search "what is required to enter thailand" and i'm sure 100's of results would have come up with all the proper information. he knew he had to apply for a Visa, so thats good, but one would thing what else do I need to do to get into Thailand right now......

I was providing an option for the OP. if you don't know when you plan to leave but 'need to have a booked exit' ticket, this is an option. a Flexi ticket would require a date to be put in, but if you don't know when you want to leave, if you keep making changes it'll probably cost more. plus flexible tickets cost a lot more!

yes you would just need an invite letter from your GF. if she owns the condo then you'll need the house book as well, that should prove she owns it. if she is renting, you'll need a copy of her lease agreement and the house book.

But if in doubt call your embassy and ask them what is required.

As for a regular tourist visa (

) You don't need to prove any accommodations. on my forms when i arrived last month i just put down an address. upon check out of ASQ they asked if that was the address where i'm staying and i said yes. no one checked anything, and i didn't have to provide any proof.

it’s not hard to book the ticket. Go on any website and find a ticket and book it.

If you don’t plan to use it anyway then it doesn’t matter if it will be cancelled or not.

It’s a solution to having an exit ticket if you don’t know when you want to leave or are forced to have an exit ‘booked’

I wasn’t asked at any point for a return ticket. If you do need one just book a cheap ticket to Cambodia or Vietnam. It doesn’t have to be cal to where you came from. Just has to be an exit ticket from Thailand if asked for one.

as long as the results are issued within 72 hours of your flight you are good.

Some places are so busy testing you can’t get your results in 1-3 days. So you’d chance not getting the results in time for the flight. I’ve heard of some places taking 5-7 days for results.

I believe the STV and TR visa form is the same. It is in Canada anyways.

@Justin *****
hmm. And the STV progress is listed on the DC embassy website? If so then something must have been filled out incorrectly on the application.

Thailand made it available for everyone in the world back in December.

I’d call the embassy to ask them.

@Justin *****
are you American? If not the STV can only be issued by your passport country.
