Heading out of Thailand for a week. I have just read that there is a slight change in the process at the airport. Previously, went through immigration, then was directed to the re-entry desk. The information I just read was that you need to do the re-entry before going through immigration. Apparently, they have tightened up on this in the last couple of months. It was suggested that if you do immigration first, it is too late ( officially, you have already left Thailand, according to the argument). Interested in anyone's experience of late.
Is there a reason people dont get re entry permits at the airport? Ive always went to immigration. But the lines are insane lately. I never see anyone waiting to get the stamps in the airport
At Suvarnabhumi Airport immigration, the female officer handled my passport roughly. She told me to wait and then placed it on the scanner. Because I have a DTV visa, I needed to present both my old and new passports together. However, she threw the passports onto the counter, which felt very rude and unprofessional.
She also wrote the visa expiry date by hand in a way that was difficult for foreigners to read. At first, I thought my passport did not have an expiry date indicated. I had to ask another officer for clarification, and only then did I learn that the handwritten note was actually the visa expiry date. I even had to go back and ask the same officer again to confirm it. Her behavior throughout the process was extremely rude and unprofessional.
Hi all been seeing pics on Internet about big ques at immigration .. if you enter thiland on a pre arranged visa is there a special lane to get in or is there a fast track lane you can use even if you have to pay tia 😊
My parents are planning to visit around the end of December and will be staying with us in our rented Apartment.
In the TDAC, we'll fill our Apartment address itself. Just wanted to check if the airport immigration will ask them to show any documents, as I see officers sometimes check hotel booking document.
BonSoir, je dois passer par Bangkok pour me rendre à Siem Reap, j'ai une escale de 5h et je vais devoir réenregistrer mes bagages. Question: dois-je faire le DTAC?
New process at BKK for all E visa holders you have to go to security and sit there for 15 to 30 minutes while they check that your E visa is valid.. WHY
Are they checking the TDAC at the airports? I've seen a few posts and comments saying IOs are at best just glancing at the TDAC QR code but not scanning it. Some posts even said they were waived through without having done the TDAC. For those who arrived after May 1st, what's been your experience? Is the TDAC being strictly enforced? Just to add: I'm NOT advocating for NOT filling it out: I'm just asking about IO attitude towards it.
Would I need to apply for DAC again at BKK airport if I don't arrive on the same day I submitted my DAC request (for example, 1/6/2025) due to an airline delay and arrive the next day (2/6/2025)?
FYI... this appeared on a forum today about the ease of using the New TDAC Arrival Card
"Sharing my experience in case others are worried.
My arrival in Thailand is scheduled for May 1st. Initial concerns regarding the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) application proved unfounded. The process was completed in under five minutes; the application was simple and straightforward. The email confirmation/QR code were received immediately, with a convenient download option also provided after submission. The entire experience was seamless and straightforward."
