I’m getting ready to apply for a non-o retirement visa…. I’m going to use an agent, which I have sat down and talked to already.

They’re going to help me out, including opening a bank account, etc.

He gave me two different prices, based on if I entered the country with a certain visa prior to filing for the retirement visa

What visa was he asking me to get, when I enter this next time so we could file for the retire retirement visa…? Any ideas…?

The fees were substantially different if I came in on a certain visa prior to filing for the retirement

Over $1000 USD difference

My husband and I are planning to retire and move to Chiang Mai, arriving on Sept 1st. I know we need to apply for the Non-O Retirement Visa and that we should do the application in our home country (United States). My question is: how soon in advance of our planned arrival should we start the application process online with the Thai embassy? I understand we’ll have 90 days to complete the process once we apply and I know we’ll need to open a Thai Bank account and deposit 1,600,000 Baht (typo fixed) once we get there. Any guidance on timing and order of operations would be helpful as I wasn’t entirely clear on this from my research. Thanks in advance for the advice!

TM30 question

Do we need to do TM30 everytime the foreigner stays somewhere ?

Case : a foreigner on Non-O retirement 90days stays at an Thai person's private home in BKK, the first TM30 has been done on the first day. When this foreigner travels back and forth to, other provinces, inside Thailand,

( I suppose each hotel does TM30 for thier client. )and come back to the same house, does the (in BKK) house owner needs to do a TM30 each time the foreigner is back ?

Thank you for sharing. Sorry if wording is confusing, hope it's understandable.

This foreigner plans to make 1 year extension in Bangkok.

Need a bit of advice. I got a non O retirement visa in January. Went over and opened Bank account and deposited the funds. Unfortunately I had to return home 9 days before the funds matured for the two months.

What are my options.I plan to return again end of May. Do I apply again for non O retirement visa in Ireland or can I apply in Thailand .

If I arrive on Visa free entry and then change to non o retirement through an agent so I can stay 6 months will there be a problem upon entry initially with a return flight 6 months from entry? If so how can I do it?
