What Covid-19 insurance policies are recommended for expats in Thailand and do they cover both Covid and regular travel insurance?

What is everyone doing for Covid-19 Insurance?

I would ideally like a policy that covers both Covid and a normal travel insurance policy.

no waiting period would also be great. as the insurance means nothing if you test positive in quarantine.

thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion centers around the need for insurance that covers both Covid-19 and regular travel issues, with no waiting period for claims. Several users suggest options like Luma, offering a policy starting at 8,000 baht for 90 days, and Arawan, noted for helpful service. There's a mention of a dedicated Covid insurance option available via Tip Insure with immediate policy issuance and acceptance by the Thai Consulate. The conversation also highlights the distinction between travel and health insurance, emphasizing the importance of coverage confirmation from the insurer regarding Covid-related treatments.

Get travel insurance, you will safe so much money. This is what a get from my embassy: “Travel health insurance can be from the insurance company in your country but the company must provide you with a letter confirming that the

insurance covers COVID-19 treatment also.” Pretty much all companies cover up covid-19.

this is about 50% more than Luma for me, for 90 days. 12,000 vs. 8,000 baht.

Yes, this is what I used. It was very simple, took 5 minutes, cost depends on length of stay and they sent the policy immediately after payment. The Thai Consulate accepted it without question. This is Covid-only insurance, coverage of 100k.
