has posted the screen shot. it is indeed an app. and makes it easier to scan into shops/malls/restaurants. using the app you don't have to put your phone number in each time!! much faster.
the gov't was proposing a new tracking app for new arrivals (thai and non thai) to track where people are going. but having an app on a phone doesn't mean it will actually track where you've been. you have to enable background refreshing on the phone (which eats up battery) so most people turn that off for app's they don't need.
The Thaichana app is the one to download for when you go into malls, restaurants, and stores so you don't have to manually put in your phone number each time you enter. You register your phone number on the app, open it and scan the QR quote upon entry, and then check out when you leave, you don't have to be putting in your phone number each time.
I wonder if someone who has recently arrived on a Tourist Visa can use this to stay longer. The situation back home isn't getting any better and i don't really want to go back. was looking into an education or volunteer visa, but this could work as well. at least for a few months.
its not impossible. either change your app store to the thailand version and download the app there. Or use a VPN to make it look like you're in Thailand to download or access the app..
