Note, you do a normal tourist visa as well, but you have to re apply each time. And for METV, you usually have to show some proof of your general travel plans.

, you cannot stay in Thailand that long on exemption and tourist visas. But with the multi entry tourist visa , you can leave and re enter as often as you want up to 2 months at a time (3 if you apply for an extension).

If you don't want to leave, you will have to look at other long term visas, like retirement.

6 Month mult entry tourist visa (METV). If you do it right, you can get almost 9 months. But you have to leave the country at least twice.

Depends on how late. Anytime before midnight, you can probably get one from the queue. After, I would definitely pre book.

Depends. Starting now to the end of next week in Pattaya. Gets busier every day. Pattaya I believe has beach concerts or something. They usually extend the water activity longer than everyone else.

These days, you will have more luck solo, if you are renting a condo, and your name is on the lease. Otherwise, Agents are becoming more and more the only solution for many.

But as
@Brandon ***********
says, it is hard to stay long term in Thailand. But you could do it for maybe a year on tourist visas/exemptions before having to start thinking about longer term visas options.

Thailand and Vietnam are the only countries you mentioned that are actually in SE Asia.

And out of what you listed, Vietnam would be the least expensive by far. But Thailand has the better infrastructure.
