Yep. You are a nobody for basically everything

You are a rich tourist, and you always pay in cash.

Please don't even ask why. This is an irrelevant question. Honest. Why does the sun go round the earth?

Generally, when you get a new passport, you get a certificate from the embassy "this new passport X, is the replacement is old passport Y"

You take this passport to the immigration office (normally where your most recent entry stamp was, but I can't recall all details), and they basically "transfer" your entry stamp and your visa to the new passport.

Then it's all as if the new passport has it all. But you might be better off to bring the old one to immigration even doing stuff in case.

this is a minor rejection. I suppose no red stamp in passport either.

They might scrutinise you application harder due to this. But shouldn't block you. But am agent might smooth things out at least advice you better on how to apply optimally

of you have a tourist visa that doesn't allow you to work, then yes. by definition you are a tourist that is legally blocked from working.

the way you make a living is not the problem of that immigration, but yours. and the law is the law, not your uncle you can argue with.

generally, working in Thailand requires a work visa.

working online with non Thai customers is sometimes seen as not really working "in Thailand".

the actual law isn't so clear. but an immigration officer can probably deny you entry if you say that you work online. unless your visa specifically allows for it.. which I think some types of DTV do allow iirc

I do understand the points mentioned by you and anon.

I tried to inform how that immigration normally operates.

if you want to litigate their attitude with "but your website said", you'll be right technically.

I'm not sure this is going to actually help

my recommendation is to try and go above board. and listen to others who did it rather than relying solely on DTV website

generally, Thai immigration want money in your Thai bank account. anything else is irrelevant.

just follow the rules. Thai immigration always demanded money in the Thai bank account. so I don't think this is a new rule.

try to follow the rules to the dot very precisely when working with Thai immigration. this is how it is
