Hi! My son ,Italian nationality,holds a Non-O Immigrant visa attending school in Phuket. This summer we will return to Italy for the holidays where he will renew his passport as it is not valid for more than 6 months. My question is: can he return to Thailand with the new passport along with the old one ( where the Visa stamp is) without having problems at the airport Immigration, and then transfer the Visa in the new passport once in Phuket? My passport needs renewing next year so when I return to Thailand with it, the immigration officer won’t know how many times I’ve been in & out of Thailand unless he goes into the system am I right thinking that 🤔

I have a DTV Visa. Approved until 2029 even though my passport expires in 2026.

I’ve also just got married and would like to update my passport to my married name when I renew it.

So I’m wondering:

1. Is the visa transferable to a renewed passport?

2. Is the visa usable if I update my married name on my passport (provided I travel with my old passport and a copy of my marriage certificate?)

Hi, I have a DTV visa, however my passport is due to expire within 1 year. So, I was thinking of getting the passport renewed.

But I'm worried would it cause any problems as I haven't used the visa yet, or carrying the blank new passport with the old one suffice.

What is the situation if you have a 12 month 'non o' visa (retirement), have left Thailand on exit/re-entry and you are back in the UK and your passport expiry date is during the time back in the UK - are visas and exit/ reentry stamps transferred to a new passport? Are you able go keep old passport with visa and stamps in? I am unsufe of the process, any advice/experiences? ✍

I’m applying for the DTV, but my passport (to be stamped, if visa is approved) expires in one year. How does that work, do you just get a new stamp in one of your quarterly visits to immigration? Thanks.

I eventually found the UK passport information online.

For Thailand the extra months carry over.

For travel in Eu its 10 years from date of issue.

It may seem like a stupid question......but....when does my passport finish for Travel to Thailand.

I saw something on the news a few weeks ago about expiry dates.

I'm sure it mentioned that uk passports were now only valid for 10 years on date of issue.

However I'm not sure if that was just to go to EU.

I'm aware that I need to have 6 months left when I travel, but not sure now if my passport expires July 26 or April 27.

This group is always useful, as usual! We are currently in Thailand thanks to an education visa and a guardian visa. However, due to the expiration date of the guardian's passport, there is a difference in the visa expiration date compared to the student's. I would appreciate any guidance on how to catch up on the visa duration and ensure that both have the same visa duration. Many thanks!!
