Will DTV be rejected if I’ve been rejected from Thailand as a tourist before and stayed in a holding cell etc.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The concern is whether a previous rejection from Thailand as a tourist will impact a future application for a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV). While some comments suggest that being denied entry doesn't automatically lead to blacklisting, the overall consensus indicates that past visa history could influence future applications. If not blacklisted, applying for the appropriate visa, such as a 60/90 day tourist visa, is recommended. Additionally, using a visa service may help navigate potential issues.
that is a great question with a backstory, I am hoping for you !

This is my suggestion...
I replied to another forum member..
"Kjetil Skaarer He's NOT 🚫 blacklisted. Being denied entry is because of his recent history of staying in Thailand without a correct Thai Visa.
IF he applies for the DTV visa...
He needs as everyone else meet the requirements for it with the Thai Embassy or Consulate where the application is submitted using the Evisa online application system.
IF he doesn't get the DTV visa approved.. then that is a new problem for him.
Likely will be DENIED entry into Thailand. And have to buy a flight ✈️ ticket to his home country.
One possible option... If not issued the DTV visa
Contact an experienced Fast Track Service Company to see if they can help get you stamped in for 60 days as Visa Exempt Entry. If they agree to accept you, you will be met when you get off the arrival flight and walked thru a Thai Immigration desk to get the New entry stamp in your passport.
Provide them your passport nation, and your recent history of being in Thailand, including the denied entry.
They are the largest border and Visa run service company in Thailand.
They also have Fast Track Service in most Thai airports with international flights arriving."

If they haven’t black listed you, they will want you to get the right visa. I’d suggest getting a
*****
day tourist visa from the embassy first and see if that gets approved.

For once this would be an appropriate use for "Anonymous "…..

Not necessarily I just finished my tourist visa and then left thinking I would get re entry on a 30 day tourist. I got sent back to Vietnam where I flew in from and then spent some time in Bali and Tokyo where mine got approved.

Ask yourself, should you even be trying to get a DTV? By the sounds of it you’ve already tried to mug the system, and the Thais will remember that
What do you mean by rejected? If you simply mean refused entry there shouldn't be a problem. But if you were arrested and deported it will depend on whether you were put on a blacklist or not
yeah just refused entry but in a holding cell waiting to go home. A Thai lady told me come back in 1 month but she’s just on the holding cell desk she doesn’t have a ton of authority
this is a minor rejection. I suppose no red stamp in passport either.
They might scrutinise you application harder due to this. But shouldn't block you. But am agent might smooth things out at least advice you better on how to apply optimally
you'll be fine to come back if you get a proper visa, be that a DTV or whatever, as soon as you have the visa. Don't try and come back on a tourist visa or visa exempt even after a month.

Fast Track is only for Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi and Don Muang) and maybe Phuket. The remaining airports are tiny little provincial airports...not worth coming in from abroad that way. Stick with the bigger airports, especially Bangkok, since 90% of all international flights land in Bangkok anyway. It's a primate city.
try to apply tourist visa (35dollar) and if they accept you’re not blacklisted. Cheaper than 10 000 baht to get rejected. But I don’t think you should have any problem if you have everything they demand to get DTV visa.
