TLDR : Answer Summary
To apply for a volunteer visa in Thailand, ensure you are connected with a legitimate organization that can provide the necessary documentation. The process generally begins with obtaining a 90-day Non-O visa, followed by a work permit, and potentially extending your stay. It's crucial to differentiate between genuine volunteer visas, which involve legitimate roles with recognized NGOs, and dubious options often referred to as 'back-door' volunteering, where individuals pay agencies for visas without true volunteering involvement. Make sure to communicate with the organization for detailed guidance on the application process and associated costs.

please send me a message I just got into Thailand yesturday with 0 issues I can forward you to the agent No questions asked very easy
At least one of the "Big 5" (the giant paper pushing agencies in the country) stopped issuing Non-O volunteer visas/extensions AND for a while were worried that the ones they had issued would be cancelled (without the people who held them knowing it until they left the country or until next year when they tried to get a different visa/extension :O)
It now appears that the existing volunteer visas they got are good and valid for as long as they're stamped BUT they stopped issuing any more :/

You have to PAY to be a volunteer. You must pay for the privilege of volunteering. Just volunteering is not what you would normal think 🤔

Yes you do for many things. I need shadow hours for my medical license Thailand offers programs u pay to be apart of to gain those accredited hours
totally NOT correct. Some foundations were having people pay to volunteer in their programs but I know many people who hold real volunteer visas and work permits for volunteering for giant foundations, NGO's etc and they don't pay for the privilege :/
yeah voluntourism or an animal experience whilst here as a tourist is not the same as the genuine volunteering that qualifies for a volunteer visa that NGOs and foundations with the correct status can acquire for their volunteers

Surely you have an idea where and for who you will volunteer for? Speak to them directly, if it’s legitimate then it’s simple and they’ll help you.

I would think the organization that you are volunteering with could assist with the process.

sounds like your friend has no legal right to a long term visa and his agent is offering him the b/s volunteer route. Total fail
Hy i am justing asking for my friend some agent told him pay only 70k THB and you get long term visa in this category. So i am just confirm that is it possible
Do you mean a "real" volunteer visa where you actually FIND a foundation that will provide you the documents to apply for first a 90 day Non-O visa/work permit and then a one year extension
OR
Do you mean one of those b/s back-door, under the table volunteer visas where you give your passport and a pile of money to an agent/agency and they take it to a province you don't live in, use an immigration office you don't go to and get a 90 day Non-O visa then a year extension for a foundation you can't even pronounce let alone have any intention of volunteering at?

Bunny sharma, you do know India is not getting any COE right now. So unfortunately if your friend is in India there is no chance of coming here any time soon.

Kelvin Tidy. I don't have a friend in India. The question was posted by Bunny Sharma. I was merely responding with a strategy. To organise a volunteer foundation to sponsor a volunteer visa might take months, so there is no harm in investigating possibilities for the future.
