TLDR : Answer Summary
In Thailand, bars and places like pubs, karaoke, etc., are officially closed, and restaurants are currently not allowed to serve alcohol due to COVID-19 restrictions. However, comments suggest that while this is the official policy, some venues may still be serving alcohol in practice. Many expats express frustration with the situation, questioning the rationale behind such bans, especially as the country attempts to navigate the pandemic.

In America the cdc says no masks. But where I work many people still wear the sign of subservience. Why is that? That's why this plandemic keeps going on and on.

I'm not a heavy drinker but in Rayong life is nearly back to normal. A lot of these people moaning are not in Thailand so they are with all due respect clueless.

It’s the same in UK it’s only hard closing down so they can save on wages and bills etc etc
They get rich while those out of work are still poorer.
Strange how Thailand had no covid for months and then as soon as UK is open and we have viaccines then Thailand got 2793 cases per day wtf
Now our bars and pubs are opening again
Does anyone really think covid just goes on holiday or takes a break lol
The govt decides when covid is high or low and right now we are far too low for it to be believable
Keep an eye on infrastructural developments happening everywhere while everyone is locked indoors
We have had huge amounts of roads tarmaced pavements layed, new traffic lights, new rail systems heaps of new buses rolled out etc etc etc

Keith Price-jones in Australia it’s not. Stores may choose to open 24 hours but my understanding is the original intention was 7 to 11.
Yes. The current outbreak spread through bars and clubs starting in Bkk, so a ban is in effect until further notice. You can still buy in supermarkets,

^ There is no alcohol ban, however bars/pups/karaokes/etc. are not allowed to open, and restaurants are not allowed to serve alcohol.
That's the official line. In real life, your mileage may vary. Especially if you're okay drinking beer from a mug. Like a Viking.
