I’m currently in Kathmandu, Nepal, holding a Chinese passport, and planning to apply for the DTV visa here.
Has anyone here applied for a DTV visa in Nepal before?
From what I read on the Kathmandu Thai Embassy website, it seems to be the same process as in other countries (like Vietnam): using the online e-visa platform with the same set of documents.
However, I’m a bit concerned that there might be some additional requirements or local differences I’m not aware of. Could anyone kindly share your experience? Should I just follow the steps on the online e-visa platform, or is there anything else I should prepare in advance?
I’d really appreciate any advice or tips.
Thank you so much in advance for your help!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user in Kathmandu, Nepal, is seeking advice on applying for a DTV visa while holding a Chinese passport. They reference the Thai Embassy's website, indicating the process is similar to other countries, yet express concerns regarding potential additional requirements. Comments suggest following the online application process but caution about possible local requirements and extra scrutiny for Chinese passport holders. Some users recommend reviewing previous experiences and considering applying from the home country.
It is very likely that there will be additional scrutiny or rejection despite with good documents since you hold a Chinese passport. You read past posts here in the group to get a general sense. Perhaps just apply in your home country I guess
I applied from Kathmandu, Just follow the process and include all documents thats required. It took two weeks for me from Application to Approval. Good luck!!
I think you need to check whether that embassy has local residence requirements. Take note that Nepali and Chinese Passport holders must provide additional documents when applying for the DTV.
