Anyone got any experience on a Non B visa ( work permit) possibly based in Rayong in the near future….
Do I have to get paid in Thailand or can I still get paid in the UK?
Answer summary
The discussion revolves around whether one can get paid from their UK employer while holding a Non-B visa in Thailand. Participants highlight that typically, for a Non-B visa and work permit to be valid, individuals must be employed by a Thai company and comply with the local tax and social security regulations. There are differing opinions about payment sources, with some expats sharing experiences about receiving payments from overseas while working in Thailand under certain conditions. Furthermore, it's noted that if married to a Thai national, obtaining a work permit might be possible even without a Non-B visa, but one must clarify these details with local immigration authorities.

No you have to be paid in Thailand and be in the Thai social system
Siggi Tirak Yes u can, i had the blue book from department of employment, signed by the Thai company, where the salary comes from is not important, i however payd my taxes to thailand.
What is it you are trying to do... Rayong DOL and immigration would handle the EOS, your non-imm B comes from an embassy, typically single entry and convert to EOS in country after you get your work permit
Rhys Hunt so it is your turn to deal your contract with your employer how to be paid. If your occupation is not on the list of the forbidden jobs, it should be possible. Hope you speak Thai. Some of your coworkers maybe will do.
Rhys Hunt well if you are not employed by the Thai entity you would have no grounds for a work permit to be issued then... As you need to be on the books of a Thai company to sponsor the B visa and the work permit
Rhys Hunt they will ask you for a work permit not a Non imm B to open a bank account...
understand only the work permit let's you work not the visa...
To get the work permit you need to be sponsored and on the books of a Thai entity as an employee, pay tax and social security
The 400k thing is for a marriage visa/extension something very different,
In Theory can you apply for a work permit on a marriage visa /extension... Technically yes but different DOL offices have different opinions and want you on B Visa, that a question Rayong Immigration /DOL would answer for you
Yes trying to work out which one is the least deductions. It is what is is tho realistically. So just confirming I can get a Thai bank account on a non B visa and don’t need a 400,000 baht balance? (I’m married in Thailand)
