Thai Authorities Stress Visa Revocation Targets Misconduct, Not Nationality
Thailand is reinforcing its immigration enforcement, warning that foreign nationals who engage in serious misconduct, violate immigration laws, or threaten public order may face visa revocation, detention, deportation, and possible re-entry bans.
Under the stricter measures, authorities have reported:
• 13 foreign tourists in Koh Phangan had their visas revoked.
• 668 education visas were revoked over alleged misuse.
• 14,161 overstayers and illegal workers were arrested and processed for deportation.
• 29,490 foreign nationals were denied entry at border controls.
Officials stress that enforcement is based on behavior and legal violations—not nationality. Foreign visitors are expected to respect Thai laws, local culture, and public order.
Thailand’s message is clear: misconduct can have consequences, regardless of where you come from.
