Do I need a re-entry permit to leave Thailand on a Non-Immigrant O visa and return within 90 days?
Quick question: if I enter Thailand on a Non-Immigrant O (retirement) visa and receive a 90-day permission to stay upon arrival, can I leave Thailand and re-enter without any issues during that period? Or do I need to arrange a re-entry permit / multiple-entry permit in advance?

Cash and where you are staying is a requirement for tourists. Retirement visa is not a tourist. You will need to put the first address where you are staying into your TDAC though.Stig ****************

90 days Non O is a single entry visa, so you’ll need a re-entry permit in order to get stamped back in.

You would need a re-entry permit if you wanted to leave and return within the 90-days. Else your permission to stay will be voided the moment you leave Thailand.

I'm going to the immigration office on my second day after arriving in Thailand to get a Certificate of Residence for opening a bank account. I assume I can also apply for a multiple re-entry permit at the same office, right?

Michael Sternberg a MULTI RE ENTRY permit for 3800 Baht makes no sense. A re-entry permit only keeps the 90-days stay permit active. How many times during these 90 days do you want to exit and re-enter Thailand? If you plan to exit and re-enter only once, then a single re-entry permit for 1000 Baht is sufficient

The re-entry permit is only valid for the stamp you have at the time you buy it. So if you are planning on doing the 1-year extension, why spend money on a re-entry permit for the 90 day stamp? Wait until you have the 1-year extension and then buy a re-entry permit for that. The only reason you would need a re-entry permit for the initial 90 days is if you plan to leave during that time.Michael ***********
