Hi everyone! I’m planning to apply for DTV (Remote Work stream) in early September. Does anyone have recent experience applying from nearby countries like Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, or Malaysia — especially as a Chinese passport holder? Would love to hear which embassy was easiest to deal with and had the fastest turnaround. Thanks in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is seeking experiences regarding the DTV (Remote Work stream) visa application process from neighboring countries as a Chinese passport holder. Comments suggest that Vietnam offers the fastest and simplest application process, while Malaysia is noted for its strictness. Cambodia is currently not an option due to the recall of embassy staff. Laos has a relatively easier process but may involve a longer waiting time with an interview required.

Vietnam is the quickest and easiest out of those 4. Malaysia is infamous for being the strictest for giving approval. Laos is not difficult but can take 2-4 weeks, brief interview is needed. You should check the main DTV FB group for lots of tips

Many say Hanoi is quicker to approve.

And Malaysia seems to be the worst/slowest according to a lot of people.
