Hi, what are the financial requirements for the 90 day non o visa I keep reading and hearing different amounts, any help would be appreciated
Answer summary
To apply for the 90-day Non-O visa, you must show proof of either 800,000 THB in your bank account for three months or an income of at least 65,000 THB per month for three months. Some embassies may allow a combination of both if the total meets the equivalent of 800,000 THB. After arriving in Thailand, you need to deposit 800,000 THB into a Thai bank account for at least two months before applying for a one-year extension of stay.

It'll depend on what reason you're applying for the Non Imm O visa

I believe that you need to upload bank statements 3 months back, I believe the amount you must have for the non-o 3 months visa is 40k a month. But when you apply, the amount is shown, just start applying, you can always save your info, gather the documents needed and come back to finish the process

Mike Norbert those 40,000 THB you mentioned is only regarding the income proof method for somebody who is married to a Thai wife and who wants to apply for the 90-days Non-Imm-O FAMILY Visa and the subsequent extension. Has nothing to do with the question of the OP

Mike Norbert you are completely wrong . . . . . . . . . . . for the application to the 90-days Non-Imm-O Retirement Visa through the online E-Visa system of the Thai embassy in your home country or anywhere else (but not inside Thailand) you need:

EITHER

*** three months of bank account statements of a deposit of a minimum of equivalent of 800,000 THB in your home currency

OR

*** original documents over an income of a minimum of monthly 65,000 THB equivalent in your home currency

*** some embassies allow the combination of deposit and income if the total combined is more than equivalent of 800,000 THB in your home currency

Nongnuch Kamdee You do absolutely not need to show 800.000 THB for a 3 month visa, maybe I was wrong about the monthly amount, but I can assure you that you are wrong about the 800k

Mike Norbert FOR THE LAST TIME ! You need to learn! For the application to the 90-days Non-Imm-O Retirement Visa through the online E-Visa system of the Thai embassy in your home country or anywhere else (but not inside Thailand) you need:

*** some embassies allow the combination of deposit and income if the total combined is more than equivalent of 800,000 THB in your home currency . . . . .I don't like to repeat it. If you don't believe it, stay away from this group

THAT’S FOR THE VISA APPLICATION

*** For the application to the 1-year Extension of the Stay Permit on Immigration inside Thailand, you need:

EITHER

*** proof of a deposit of a minimum of 800,000 THB in your THAI (!) bank account. On the day you apply, you need the “bank letter of guarantee” that the deposit has already been sitting in your account for a minimum of two months.

OR

*** a legalized by your country’s embassy in Thailand income/pension affidavit over a minimum of monthly 65,000 THB.

Some Immigrations want to know the SOURCE of the income as well.

OR IF

*** your embassy does not issue an income affidavit anymore (that’s the embassies of UK, USA, Canada, Australia and Norway) you would need a 12 months bank statement over accumulated 12 months of consecutive monthly transfers into your Thai bank account, coded as having come from abroad, over a minimum of 65,000 THB. Month for month, not missing a single month.

Myself and my wife both applied from UK (I assume same rules for you) she was still working so got hers by showing over 65k THB equivalent for 3 months, I'm retired so I showed 800k thb equivalent , only needed to show 1 month, we got the 90 day non o , arrived got bank accounts (get phone linked passport first) we deposited 800k each, we are now close to the 2 months with the money in, we will then get the extensions , after that we will deposit 65k a month to each account (already started this) 3 months after the extension we will drop to 400k (money earns more at home) we will then leave that for a year while also depositing 65k each a month and use the monthly for 2nd extension and then remove the other 400k

If applying from your home country, you need the equivalent of 800,000 baht in your bank. Once in Thailand, you need to open a bank account and transfer this amount to it in order to qualify for the one year extension of stay.
Steve *******

Ralph Tyson That's only if you're applying based on being over 50. If you're applying based on marriage/visiting family/volunteering/half Thai child then you don't need 800k Thai Baht or equivalent in your bank

Mark Taylor the equivalent of 800k Baht in a bank account in your name will do it. Being an Aussie you should also consider the Non-OX which has more requirements but has benefits.

If you are applying for the 90 day Non-O visa in your home country you can show the equivalent of 800k baht in your home bank OR an income of a minimum of 65k baht per month for 3 months. However once you get to Thailand you are going to need to open a bank account and put a minimum of 800k baht in it within the 1st few weeks as it must be in place for 2 months before you can apply for the 12 months extension of stay. It also has to remain in your bank account for 3 months after you get the extension and can't drop below 400k baht at any point during the period of the extension

@Mark *******
you can apply for it inside Thailand if you enter on visa exempt or on a tourist visa IF you already have a Thai bank account as you need to transfer 800k baht from overseas to apply. Or you can apply at another consulate using the same criteria as if you applied at home, if you are allowed to apply there

Depends if you are asking about an in country Non O or one you’d buy from an embassy before entering Thailand.

If in country you need 800k in a Thai bank. If prior to coming the equivalent of 800k in any bank in your name.

That is of course assuming your embassy won’t issue an affidavit of income. I haven’t checked your profile but your name suggests yours won’t.

I understand u have to apply in your home country, I read u need between 20 to 100k, I know u need 800k for the 1 year extension, do u need that amount for the 90 day too?
Greg ***********

Mark Taylor You can apply for the "change of visa type" from a tourist visa or a visa-exempt entry, to the initial 90-days Non-Imm-O retirement visa, after you arrived, on Immigration inside Thailand.

The requirements are posted on the Immigration website under Number 9

click onto it, a .pdf list of requirements will open.

The most important requirement is an ALREADY existing Thai bank account, a deposit of a minimum 800,000 THB already sitting in it, and a proof that the money came from abroad. And you will need a rental contract

The fee for the application to the visa is 2000.- THB. It will be issued for 14 days “under consideration”. After this waiting period, you visit Immigration and pick up the stamp.

As soon as the 800,000 THB have seasoned in your Thai Bank account for 2 months, you can apply for the “1-year extended stay permit”.

The “1-yearExtension of Stay” is not a “visa”. It is not a “retirement visa” or a “one year visa”. The 1-year Extended Stay Permit is a simple STAY PERMIT, and that’s what the stamp says!

The fee for the application to the 1-year Extension of the Stay Permit is 1900.- THB

No idea where you see 20 to 100k. You need 800k in a Thai bank for an in country visa or the equivalent of such in any bank when applying via the evisa system.

You don’t need to apply in your home country. That’s for a Non OA. A completely different visa.
