Answer summary
The THIM (Thailand Immigration Management) app has faced compatibility issues on various Android devices, with some users reporting it works on newer Samsung models while others cannot install it. There's skepticism about the app's usefulness, as some prefer the traditional website for services like TDAC. Users also highlight concerns over privacy and the steep learning curve for older phone users. The app aims to facilitate immigration processes but currently offers limited features, largely focusing on the TDAC, with a promise of more functions coming in October.

Does THIM require a Google account for Android devices? Please also consider Android users who have deliberately chosen not to have a Google account.
From what I’ve seen, the app currently does need Google Play services to work properly, so having no Google account can be a problem for some Android users. Hopefully, they’ll offer more options or a web version that doesn’t require Google integration soon.
Is there any added value to this app? Else, not inclined to consider using it. No idea what’s with the trend of having an app for everything that could easily be done on a website. Also no idea why people would use a tiny phone screen to fill a form, when a bigger screen and a keyboard would be much more comfortable. Oh well, I guess I don’t have to understand everything. 😅
