One (pretty dumb) question for Americans...on the DTV application under the "Place of Issue" field for passport, I simply wrote "USA".

I am seeing that maybe I should have put "UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF STATE".

Does anyone who got approved have any info on this?

I will be submitting my application later this week, but I had a question regarding one of the fields on the pasport info page.

In the field "place of issue" would I write exactly what is seen on my pasport "dia syd" or should I write the full name "department of Internal Affairs Sydney"?

I’ve been in this group for a while but still haven’t found a clear answer to this question: *What should we write in the “passport place of issue” field?*

Some people say we must write exactly what’s written in the passport, while others say just write the country. I’m really confused.

In my case, the place of issue in my passport is a string of numbers and letters in Russian. Even if I try to copy them, the application doesn’t allow Cyrillic characters, so it won’t match what’s written in the document anyway.

If you’ve applied recently, could you please clarify what you wrote in this field? Thank you so much in advance!

Hello, I'm about to apply for the DTV in Phnom Penh. I just have a doubt for the place of issue. I know there's been a lot of talk about it but to apply in Cambodia, should I write down exactly what's written in the Authority section in the passport or should I write France? I have a french passport but it was issued in Tbilissi, Georgia ...

EDIT: Just got approved! I have written exactly what was in my passport - this is what the embassy in HCMC told me to do (Hanoi embassy is hard to contact).

Hey guys, I’m in Hanoi applying for DTV visa and have a problem with the ‘Place of issue’ for my passport. I have a Polish passport that I got in Jakarta, and it says ‘Authority’, which I assume is the same thing.

The problem is that it only says (in Polish) ‘Consul in Jakarta’ and that’s it. I'm unsure whether I should write it as it is, translate it, or something else. I know people got rejected because of that issue.

Btw, the embassy is not answering my emails 🙂 And the phone seems busy all the time.

My passport doesn't have this field so I'm struggling because of the posts of several people who got their application cancelled because they filled in the country where the passport was issued. My passport has the voice "Authority". Should I type in what it's written there? I mailed the embassy which replied me "Fill in the form in full accordance with the information in your passport". Please only replies from those who have already applied in a situation similar to mine. Thanks

What I want to know is: how should I write the “place of issue”? I think “Osaka” is fine for me since my passport was issued there ( Japanese passport )

I’m planning to apply in Indonesia soon. Has anyone gotten approved in Jakarta? I’ve seen some similar comments in this group, but I’d like to hear directly from someone who has already been approved in Jakarta and what they wrote for the “place of issue.”

I am currently in the process of applying for my DVT through freelance work. I have a UK passport, I am from London. Can someome please advise what the "Place of Issue" would be? I've seen a few post about this being the cause of some people's application being cancelled. Any help appreciated 🙏🏻
