There was some talk that visa exempt for Australians was to be reduced from 60 to 30 days. I’ve heard nothing confirming this - is this still likely tk happen?
So just got done with the home visit. Everything was fine, or seemed. The one weird thing was that they said when I go get my stamp, the official one. That they will come visit again. I haven't heard of that or on my prior marriage visa they didn't do that. Is this another, different immigration, different policies kind of thing?
Just an update on in country extension and Bangkok bank :-
Went to immigration with orginal documents (workation)
Self certed letter of employment
Company registration docs (uk)
Business description
Residence certificate
Copy of dtv visa
Copy of passport
Had photo taken there
didn’t need any bank statements just asked for bank account certificate of funds which i didn’t have
Went off to a Bangkok bank not my normal branch.. they said as I had recently transferred money across they will lock 400k for four months due to internal policy.. shows in total balance but deducted for available balance.
No mention of issues with dtv visa etc although they took photo copies of passport pages and I had to sign several documents..
Back to immigration, 90 day report done, extended with a new 180 day stamp in an out in 30 mins
Bizarre that they are selective with which DTV accounts they close 🤔
Have you all been getting your bank accounts closed if you had your account before you got your DTV? I’m scared to go into my branch and hand them my passport. I use my ibanking quite a bit. Any info on this? Is it in fact bangkok banks policy to close your account if you’re on a dtv?
I’m gonna try the drivers license trick. That is a god idea. Unfortunately I was just forced to renew a 5 year (my secomd 5 year) to a 2 year also due to Dtv. I wonder if the 2 year license will give them a heads up to request my passport?
I would like to know if it is possible to get a 3 months visa extension on a 5 years elite visa at my local immigration office (Rayong) or if I have to go to Bangkok office. I'm asking because I've got different answers from the Elite company and my local immigration office.
Anyone that is familiar with the China Visa free transit scheme can you tell me if I leave from Thailand then layover in Hong Kong on the way to Beijing, that means I am entering from Hong Kong not Thailand correct?
