many visa run companies or agents offer a service called the green corridor. You will send them pictures of your passport and arrival date. They forward it onto their airport immigration contact. They pre-approve your entry. You then pay and it's all booked in. When you arrive an immigration officer meets you and takes you through. It's a good service for people who have heaps of border run stamps, it guarantees your entry
You can still enter with a 60 day visa exempt stamp. You just need to prepay for the green corridor. Cost is between 4000-6000 baht depending on which airport you use
Here's an option that no one ever mentions but it's actually good if you transfer enough money. Western Union cash pick up.
If you transfer more than about 110,000 baht you get almost the same as the market rate. With the fee and the exchange rate it only ends up being about 700 baht less money you get than using wise with a bank to bank transfer. Its not too bad for that amount of money
the guy should use western union since he wants to transfer large amounts. Wise is best for smaller amounts, usually anything under 120,000 baht but anything over then western union is better. Wise takes a percentage where western union has a flat rate no matter the amount and WU increase their exchange rate on the more money you transfer.
I use wise for small amounts and wu for large transfers
You need to use land borders. If you use the land borders that visa run companies use, you can drive yourself and pay a fee at the border for the stamp. Or just go with the border run company. You can live in Thailand non-stop if you use land borders
any chance you can do a little break down of your expenses?
I'm really interested to know how you manage to spend 2000USD per month living in the sticks. I've stayed in the sticks before and it would be impossible for me to spend 2000 per month cause everything is so cheap out there. The only way I would be able to spend that amount of money is if I was the village ATM
the border run companies usually say the Thailand province that is on the border, not the province in the other country. All border run companies in Phuket advertise border runs from Phuket to Satun and Phuket to Ranong
