Dont you become a Thai tax resident if you stay more than 6 month ? They could easily announce that Thai tax receipts must be shown when entering on DTV

@Andi **********
I wouldn't be surprised in they began asking people to show their Thai tax payment records when entering on DTV

Thais quite frequently change the entry requirements . They could easily change the 6 months DTV entry to 30 day entries, like they are doing with the 60 day visa exempt or require you to have paid tax in Thailand

@Greg *******
May as well go back to Thailand and apply again for the DTV once the METV has expired

@Dany *******
But it ISNT staying for five years . It might be "nearly" staying for five years , but it isnt staying for five years
Peter ******
They have already told you the info once , then told you again . Do you need to be told again ? You cannot get a DTV whilst your METV is still valid

UK bank account 5% interest rates , which is 40 000 Baht a year if you keep that 800 000 Baht in a home bank account , Visa agents fees are less than that

@Paul ******
The interest money you receive from foreign bank accounts easily pays the agents fees
