I went through this process last year. On my first return to Thailand, showed both passports. I then went along to our local immigration (Phuket) with both passports, TM.7, TM.30 and the relevant photocopies, and they moved my non O (retirement) extension and multi re-entry stamps to the new passport. All very painless. Have since used only the new passport. Wife (German passport) has just got a new passport while we are in Europe and will do the same when we go back.

Wife and I have been doing an annual extension (retirement) for years and not really noticed any major changes.

Thanks. We haven't flown out since the end of November and they didn't have them then. Leaving again early April, so will see if anything has changed

Automatic departure gates at Phuket yet?

Phuket used to insist on hand drawn. Last time they said Google would be OK, but insisted it show longitude/latitude.

This is exactly what my wife and I do. Each an account with 800K in, and a joint account for day to day living. At extension time, we take 100 Baht out of the two 800K accounts so they can see that between the last extension and the new one, there have been no other transactions.

The last couple of times we have done our annual renewal (in Phuket) our passports have come back with 90 day reports stapled in them, even though we have not been in the country for anywhere near 90 days.

My wife and I (separate accounts) each transferred a small amount, just to make sure everything was correct, and then we transferred the rest, but there is no rule as long as the full amount is there by the required date.
