Applied for a 90 day Non-O (retirement) on Sunday using the eVisa system (first time we have used it). Query regarding one document Monday mid-morning, Tuesday an email to say it had been processed, and midnight Tuesday visa arrived by email.  Processed by London Embassy. Basically 2 working days. Can't complain about that. 

Now waiting for wife's 90 days visa, which was uploaded at the same time (same account/credit card payment), which had the same query on Monday. Fingers crossed.
