Hello..any experience out there on 800,000 baht transfer into Thailand 🇹🇭 bank account. I just got my account at Bangkok bank(on a TR visa) I wanted to have it before turning 50 in April and apply for Non O visa, my question is..can I transfer to 800,000 baht into my account in increments or should be all at once? I know 800,000 should be from out of country…any input would be greatly appreciated 🤗

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks advice on transferring 800,000 baht to their newly opened Bangkok Bank account to meet visa requirements for a Non-O visa. Key insights from the community suggest that the funds can be transferred in increments rather than all at once. However, it's important to ensure that the total amount is in the account two months before applying for the visa and that the funds must be shown as originating from abroad. The community also recommends checking the transfer description and following specific guidelines to avoid issues.

what this isn't going to turn into is a how can I cheaply transfer money into the country thread.

There is no requirement that it all be brought in at once and only SOME offices require you show that it come from abroad, SO check with your immigration office to see what's what BEFORE you transfer the money in

May I suggest you follow the WISE forum...

The transfer of funds to Thailand must show in international transfer to your Thai bank account in your name only.

With proper coding.

Just to say, and I don’t know, but before sending check on what the wire description reason memo states, one legal firm in BKK was telling me it should be described a certain way - like for retirement or something- that might have been specific to the immigration they were going to use, but just saying…

@Christopher *****
the reason for transfer to use is "Long term stay".

Apologies if this is an obvious point, but the funds need to show that they came from abroad also.

I have transferred my funds in from Aussie via Wise with great results.

No problems whatsoever and very quick and efficient.

Their mobile provides a useful progress tracker as well.

My wife and I (separate accounts) each transferred a small amount, just to make sure everything was correct, and then we transferred the rest, but there is no rule as long as the full amount is there by the required date.

As long as the total is in there 2 months before you apply for your extension or visa.
