TLDR : Answer Summary
Recently, travelers departing from Thailand have been noticing the absence of a departure stamp in their passports due to the introduction of electronic scanning systems at airports. Many users in the community have confirmed this observation, stating that they did not receive a departure stamp during their exit. This new system seems to be in effect at major airports like Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi and has not caused issues for re-entry into the country. However, it is noted that travelers still receive a physical entry stamp upon returning to Thailand. Overall, this transition to a more automated exit process appears to be accepted by those who have experienced it.
I hope they do eventually use modern tech rather than draconian methods, seems a hybrid right now; it all ends up in a database anyway. Governments don't like to deploy tech, without wasting vast sums, UK has so many failed projects with Oracle, and the US needs smart engineers to gut their fed system to purge 'poor' tech, manual systems. Not that surprising.

I left Thailand 2 nights ago, same thing - and tbh I didn't even think about it or notice it until I read this post!

With all the new immigration regulations and forms these days Iโm surprised they donโt add a swift kick in the arse on the way out too
Wife and I have been doing an annual extension (retirement) for years and not really noticed any major changes.

Yes no exit stamp when I go last November, I ask to the immigration lady if ok, she said to me itโs ok and when I re-enter by land 2 weeks later, no problem at all ๐
I have an e-visa but still get an entry stamp with my exit date on it and "e-visa" handwritten. Maybe some day it will stop - but they love love love their stamps and signatures in Thailand ๐
the only people it might change for this year are those without a visa. Visa exempt entries might go to auto gates at some point this year if they implement ETA
so then there's no risk of people accidentally cancelling the visa? I believe I've seen some people complain that their visa got cancelled on exit even with a reentry permit that was on a different page.
that doesn't even make sense. A re-entry permit is a re-entry permit. If it's on a different page just make sure the immigration officer is aware when you hand them your passport on re-entry. It's your responsibility to check your passport after you are stamped in to make sure it's correct.
nope nothing like that, if you have a re-entry permit in the passport before you leave the country when you come back and go to stamp in HAND the passport to the officer with it OPEN on the page with the re-entry permit ๐
