If you have the money to lose forever ….then elite is a good less hassle visa ….but if your just an average income guy it’s not a good use of your budget. I hold the basic elite visa which expires in June 26…I won’t renew for the same reasons to rent, not buy. Thailand is changing rapidly and may not be where I want to spend a majority of my days anymore. If you hold into your money you have choices unless your really loaded

The best suggestion I find is for you to spend 2-3 weeks or more exploring Thailand and finding out where you want to live at first. Then interview several visa agents in that area and see how they will get you a O visa…and compare their costs. Make sure they are reputable by asking American expats in the area.
