Just arrived at DMK…never seen such long lines at immigration. Either it’s the beginning of high season or immigration officers are taking time to scrutinize visa exempt travelers.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Travelers at DMK Airport are experiencing unusually long immigration lines, potentially due to the beginning of the high tourist season and increased scrutiny of visa-exempt travelers. Observations indicate that while some airports like Suvarnabhumi might have varying wait times, DMK often has extended questioning for those entering under visa exemptions. The community notes fluctuations in immigration wait times and attributes the current situation to rising tourist numbers and operational changes at the airport.
ain't just DMK, we landed from Taiwan to Suvarnabhumi the other week and it was the same. Usually much quicker but it was the longest it's ever took in like the 15 times I've landed there.

They did warn about extended waiting and screening time at immigration . I guess it’s the new normal now. Wait for the real high season …
The other day BKk was full and took over an hour , a couple of days later no people no queues so straight through
It all varies depending on so many things

My observation and experience. Not scientific 🤣🤣🤣. My BKK arrivals come from long overseas flights come in late never even a word just straight to stamp. DMK is usually the super cheap flights to neighboring countries everytime DMK there is an interrogation where is your hotel how long you stay why you go. DMK is probably more of a choice people use to get new entry on visa exempt. Just my observation.
busy at BKK yesterday when our flight arrived ~30 minutes early around 08:30. So not sure if the issue was Immigration or with the arrival coinciding with that of others. Some vacant Immigration booths and a fair few Indian sorts queuing too.
