I'm not sure you can the 40kthb method in the first year, you cant on some other visas. If someone knows on here thats fine if immigration can help. In addition to financial proof, other document proofs include:

The passport of the applicant with all relevant visas, stamps, and TM6 departure card,

The child's Thai ID card and house registration (housebook),

Evidence of parental rights such as a court order or marriage certificate,

Photographs of the applicant and child,

The submitted TM7 extension of stay form and TM30 residence notification.

But again immigration can confirm

90 day Non O for support of a Thai is obtained outside of Thailand. Did you get this? If you want a 1 year ext. Its based on supporting a thai child. You have to 400kthb in the bank. Do you have a thai bank account?

the other story was opion that the government favours wealthy pensioners is pretty reasonable, however, the recent flurry of financial and banking stuff on visas is in response to Thailand trying to fall inline with International financial norms and scams causing the some of reactions of Bangkok bank.

10,000 student visas of foreign nationals who failed to meet the required criteria. Many visa holders abused student visas by not genuinely enrolling in courses or attending classes, using the visas to stay in Thailand unlawfully or work illegally. An enforcement issue nothing to do with retirement.

well unfortunately i have a lumpsum payment from my pension a few weeks before the due date and they BBK wanted to check it was still there, mind you if they had checked the previous year (which they had) they could have seen it stayed there and used as intended, but they can check.

yeah, the lady boss once called me during "under the consideration period" saying Bangkok immigration has requested an updated bank book, so it can happen.
